Recent Project: Landmark Block, Thurloe Place

The project brief was the complete re-design of an impressive landmark block in Thurloe Place. Hilda's design focus was to upgrade the large scale architectural features including the entrance halls, staircases, lift frontages and concierge areas. 

Her recommendations were to completely strip out the last refurbishment, and carefully reinstate the following elements: period cornices and wall panelling, a new marble floor, custom-made bronze entrance doors and lift frontages. Finishing touches included giant panelled mirrors and marble-top consoles, and an impressive lighting scheme.

The design was inspired by the grand scale of the Edwardian block and its provenance, and restored an architecturally coherent backdrop to a bold contemporary decorative scheme.

Hilda drew on her extensive background and contacts with specialist custom suppliers to create the unique decorative features for the project.
